About Me:
Bio:
Paul Simonon was the reason i picked up a bass guitar, the man's a ledgend, , for you deprived people who dont know off him,,,he was the lanky, and goodlooking bassist for 'The Clash' (the best group EVER) im gigging with our awsome group and things are looking great, thanx again to Mr Paul Simonon, when he joined the clash he had to paint the notes on his fretboard :-P 6 months later and he was blowing pple away with his raggae like bass line's,He wasn't a greatly skilled player in the beggining but boy he had passion and he looked cool as ****, Ive never had one lesson,as soon as i picked up the bass i gave it my all, i mean come on!!!!! 4 strings???? it aint rocket science, ive picked up loads of different things from the people i jam(ed) with, but thats due to my attention for detail, i guess im just a good and fast learner, even though im experienced now i still pick up things from other musicians and im sure they pick up things from me too. I play with my fingers mostly but pick up a plec when im playing something fast and repetative,Mark King ,Jack Bruce, Bruce Foxton, and Flea are also inspiration's, i dont see the point in using the bass for one kind of style, its all about expression .ohh and Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols Is a Legend too, that man made pure beutiful punk bass lines, now listen to the shit you get today!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr P.S . Check out my bands website, its still under construction but pay us a visit. www.sonicredemption.co.uk
Equipment:
'Yamaha RBX 460', i have a jazz squier bass and still have my vey first bass which was a wee westfield, its not too hot but it has sentimental value and through my amp it does sound awsome, play through a Behringer 2 channel combo Bxl3000A (300watt) ,i use 'Elixir light gauge.045-.100' strings, expensive but fantastic for tone,i hate rotosound , they dont do my bass or playing any favours, their tone is crap, and they fade too fast!!. i have a kick ass dr-5 drum machine , it can play chords ,synth and anything else, handy for when drummers are on holiday , it also dont make mistakes :P , i can play guitar too, im more of a rhythm man myself :P, loads o other stuff, thats another story,
Musical Skills/Knowledge:
Im a Musician , Singer/Songwriter, guitar/bass, :P
Other Interests:
Errrrm beside's music, not much, British Punk Rocks!!!!!!

lol, yeah, I understand, man...but, hey, I'm still going for it. My dream bass is the Tobias Signature Six-String bass, but, a Rickenbacker 4003 or 4001 model is my second dream lol ANd that's the one I'm going to save up for. Hell, man, I don't even have a car, and at this rate, I'm not going to have one for a while! lol but I'm going to get the Rickenbacker 4003. I love the shape and the sound..It's just an amazing bass. I'm not much of a fan of the Cheyenne models, though.

youv'e got yourself a lengthy bio, but at least it helps pass the time i have to spare

Sorry, I accidentally added a space in the links in the first comment http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Schecter-Stiletto-Studio6Bass?s ku=513086 That's the correct link :P

Actually, man, one more recommendition:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/navigation?N=100001+306317 +11&page=1

If you're looking for a heavy bass that is unique, and more for rhythm, there's a good idea =]

And one last idea:

~ http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/navigation?N=100001+306313+201644+ 11&Ne=1464&page=1 ~

Here are a couple that I haven't looked at individually, but, although I personally don't like the shape, most of the schecters I've played had great tone, although they were very punchy, more trebly than bassy. Just the ones I've played, though.

Anyways, man, those are a few suggestions of mine, if you need any more help, just ask!

I also looked at Musiciansfriend.com for some ideas - Presuming you're right about the 500 pounds being equivalent to $700, here are a few ideas just to help:

Since you're a musician, you can never do with too few notes; if you've ever considered a 6-string, this has a pretty cool shape and colour, I think, and with really good reviews by owners, seems like a good deal for $700.

If you're only looking for a four string, this could be an option. It's got great colour, and if you're looking for a lot of frets (24) you can't get many more than this one. Also has very nice pickups. I actually played one of these in a guitar centre not long ago. I've played better, of course, but it was a very nice bass.

Well, I changed my plan, and am actually going to save up until I can afford a Rickenbacker 4003 =] I love those basses..

Um, I don't really know what you like. My personal favourite brand other than the Rickenbacker 4003 and Tobias is Fender, I love Fender Jazz Basses, especially the like '51 and '71 styles. =] Sweet ****, man, but I don't know what you're into. That's just me..

There is good news, though, man..I fixed the electronics in my bass, and I got all the frets off without ruining it =] So now I'm the proud owner of a Fender Fretless Jazz Bass xD Love it.

Peace

Well, man, bad news. My electronics are ****ed. My bass makes no sound plugged in anymore, some wiring snapped. Luckily, my band teacher has a school bass that I can use, and I have my acoustic for home...I also was planning on getting a new bass in a few weeks anyways, so, yeah. = Still, it sucks.
