| About Me: |
| Bio: |
| Hellooo, I'm an experienced Bassist-come-guitarist from Glasgow, Scotland - and I love pretty much every style of music under the sun. My favourite Bands/Musicians are probably The Fall of Troy and The Mars Volta. I played bass for about four years and I've been +Grade 8 for about two, though i've quite officially become a guitarist recently and i am writing alot of my own material for a band I've started.
I was one of the founding members of Flood of Red, they have a dot-com, check it out, they're "post-hardcore for girls" lol, they're pretty cool, but I like experimental shizzle :\
As forementioned I've just recently put together a band, biggest influences are The Mars Volta and The Fall of Troy, only we have a lineup closer to that of The Blood Brothers?!?! No name as of yet, but it's still good. I'm in college now, but hope to be accepted into Glasgow School of Art's Visual Communication/Design course next year =D

| Equipment: |
| A Stagg FL3000 Fretless Bass, it sucks, but it does the job. Yamaha RBX 270, my first bass. A cheapo Flamenco guitar from 8, 10 or so years ago, my first ever instrument, the wood has aged really well though, so it sounds great!!! An early 90's De Armond by Guild "Starfire", Electric Guitar, like a Gibson 335 only it can be alot brighter sounding :P An early 70's Yamaha Steel String Acoustic Guitar that belongs to my dad.
I run it all (inc guitars) on a Behringer Ultrabass AX3000T Bass Head through a Peavey 350W 4x10 Cab with a Black-Widow Bullet/Tweeter.
MXR 135 Smart Gate pedal into a Korg AX1500 modeller pedal - because i have only one effects pedal as of yet, i use the MXR to clean up the harmonic resonance of the DeArmonds hollow body, as apposed to cleaning up what would be electronic noise from a line of pedals :] I also have this cool-as Synthesizer from the eighties which sounds Amazin'!!! That's about it so far... |
| Musical Skills/Knowledge: |
| Fretted and Fretless Bass, Flamenco Guitar, Electric Guitar, Double Bass, Cello, Piano, Synthesizer ('mon the moog!) and Ocarina. I'm not so keen on plectrums. On the Stringed instruments I am Grade 8 plus, the keys about grade 5. Ocarina is just for fun, lol. |
| Other Interests: |
| I love Film; like Amelie, Donnie Darko, Garden State, Casablanca, Pulp Fiction(or anything by tarentino), stuff like that. Lee Evans is also the greatest comedian in all existance by the way. I also love photography and Painting/Sketching, as forementioned I want to get into design school, as much as I personally prefer Fine Art, design just has that reassurance of work, lol. Music has become not so much a career path nowadays, it's become kinda like a sanctuary from comissioned paintings. PS - Black Boadrimmed glasses make the world go round, boy! x |
