About Me:
Bio:
| I guess you could say I'm your average humanoid lifeform. I eat, sleep, rob banks, all in your typical human fasion. I do have a few oddities though, like being able to communicate with animals and enter the 5th dimension, but you know, as typical as anything. I know what you guys are thinkin though. That last part was total BS. Yah, your right. I'm a guy, about 6 feet tall, with 9 inch-long hands, who enjoys acting, drawing, reading, writing, judoka, Dungeons and Dragons, Angelina Jolie, and of course, playing bass guitar. At this exact moment I's say I've been playing for 8 months, give or take. Although that may not seem like such a long time, I've progressed remarkably well. I can count 2 days in which I did not play my beloved Squier P, and one of them was in a..... different state of mind, shall we say. Anyway, I'm in a band (me, a drummer, and hopefully a guitarist or tuba player if we're lucky) called WackRat. We play Primus and RHCP covers, as well as not a bad pile of origionals. I like any music that sounds good, but if I have to play favourites, I'd say my tops are Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Modest Mouse, Gorillaz, and even some heavy stuff like Slip Knot and System of a Down. I also like pretty much and Rap before 1991, with some exceptions. I also enjoy many classics such as the Eagles, Jethro Tull, frank Zappa, and alot of Motown (because James Jamerson is like the most fricken awesomest bassisst ever! well, I mean, you know, besides me. I dunno, he actually may be a little better). I also have a strong love for modern jazz, such as Stanley Clarke and Charles Mingus. I also love the soundtrack from the Coens brother's "O Brother Where Art Thou" (and I highly reccomend you buy it). Well, now, I guess I just went and listed all the music I like. Well there you go. Now on to... everything else.

A tall, dark, and sexy Squier P Bass, the color of a tall glass of red merlot. I also have a new adition to the growing Timo Bass family, a beautiful Dean custom performer Acoustic Bass, which I got at half price since it took so damn long for it to get shipped. I'm in the market for a fretless, and then maybe a standup. I forgot to mention, I'm left-handed, so finding good basses is all the more challenging dur to such. My dream girl, I mean bass, is a fretless Fender jazz, or a Rainbow bass (Primus fans, holla!). Anyway, once I get a job I should be good and on my way to a more proffesional selection.
Musical Skills/Knowledge:
Well, I gotta say my first encounter with a musical instrument was falling into a piano at age 3. But things only progressed from there. I played the recorder, like every other 3rd grader on the planet. At arounf age 9, I began listening to jazz, and soon expressed desire to take up the saxophone. My parents, being mentally challenged, got me instead a clarinet. So, rather than cry over I spilt milk, I began playing them clarinet (thats right, the clarinet. You wanna mess?). I soon hated that and stopped. Around my froshmen year of high school. The following year, I was introduced to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Primus, which feuled my desires to play bass guitar (I found the normal guitar to be more of a cliche instrument, good only for smashing). So, thus my musical career began. I'm currently in a what I like to call "Physcodelic-Funktastic Gypsy Punkrock Boy Band". We play alot of Primus and Red Hot Chili Pepper covers, but we do have also a fine smattering of origionals, such as "Stairway to Heaven" and "Blue Hand Pimp Smack", featuring Fat Joe and Silent Bob, with a cameo appearance by Catbert. I'm currently developing my own style of bass playing, involving a slap-tap combination with alot of thumb picking and finger-muting. Hopefully I'll be able to master it, patent it, and make a few million. And then retire in the southern coast of Sweden. I do tend to ramble sometimes.
